Postpartum Update: 4 Weeks

December 22, 2018 Margaux Fuller
Postpartum Update: 4 Weeks | Forever Fuller

I can’t believe my baby boys are four weeks old already!  They are getting so big & changing by the day.  We are starting to see their personalities & they are the cutest little things I’ve ever seen.  I know that everyone says it goes by way too fast, but I really cannot believe how quickly time has gone by.

Wyatt:  Wyatt is just under 6 lbs & is our little night owl!  He loves to keep mommy & daddy up from 12am to 3am.  We are working on getting him on a more consistent wake/sleep schedule.  Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't :) he is also very expressive! He makes the funniest faces that always make us smile.

Boden:  Boden is 6.5 lbs & is our blondie. He is s bit more laid back than Wyatt, he could sleep all day! Most of the pictures we have of him are with his eyes closed because he is always sleeping.

They both have big, blue eyes & are the most adorable baby boys.  They are also so strong!  Both of them can hold their heads up.

Me: My recovery has been good.  I feel like my incision is healing very nicely & I have no pain (just a sore abdomen & some itchiness from the healing).   I’ve somehow managed to get away with no stretch marks, my bellybutton is pretty stretched out though!  I am only 10 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight & although I’m able to get my old jeans on, I’m unable to button them!  I’ve still been wearing my maternity leggings because I’m in that weird stage where my maternity pants are too big, but my regular jeans are still a little too small.  I can’t wait until I can wear my favorite jeans again!

Favorite newborn products:  Some of the things that we have found to be lifesavers for us are:

  1. Baby Brezza Formula Pro this is literally a Keurig for formula.  It automatically dispenses the right amount of formula & water then mixes & warms the bottle to the right temperature.  This thing makes middle of the night feedings so much easier!  Definitely worth it, in my opinion.

  2. Halo sleep sacks these are so amazing!  We use the cotton sleep sacks & they make/keep a swaddle tight so the babies can’t wriggle their arms free.  We use these every single day & the boys sleep in them every night.

  3. Dr. Brown’s bottles we bottle feed the boys with either formula or pumped breast milk & these bottles have worked very well for us!  Since they were born 5 weeks premature, they had to learn how to suck (they weren’t very good at first) & these bottles really helped them.

  4. Daniel Jang Wyatt & Boden love music!  They really like when daddy plays the piano or the guitar for them, but during the night when they are fussy we have been playing Daniel Jang & they seriously love it!  It calms them down almost instantly.  Daniel Jang is a violinist that plays covers of popular songs.  He is amazing.

I’ve just been informed by my three year-olds that they want their bedroom walls painted black. I’m kind of into it! I think Sean will need some convincing, though 😅🖤 they are threenagers, for sure!

This closet has changed a bit over the last few years. Since we switched the kids to “big boy” beds 7 months ago (has it already been that long?!) we’ve had to make some adjustments. A closer look at their room (and closet organizat
