Toddler Room + Dresser Organization

March 4, 2021 Margaux Fuller
Toddler room + Dresser Organization | Forever Fuller

Last March, I shared the boys’ bedroom & how I organized their dresser. It has become one of my most read & shared blog posts so I figured it was time to do a little update! Their room has changed a lot in a year, mainly the addition of big boy beds! Here is the link to my previous post if you’d like to read about how their room was before: The Boys’ Room + Dresser Organization.

I’m planning on sharing how we transitioned them to their beds in another post, but we knew it was time to make the switch when they started climbing out of their cribs. I tried to “toddler proof” the room as much as I could, but having the large dresser in their room was not safe anymore so we had to rearrange a bit!

This is how their room currently looks! The beds take up a lot of space so there isn’t anything else in the room except for a small hamper (one for each boy) that stores their stuffed animals. It’s better this way because this room actually stays pretty clean. We don’t have any toys in here (except for the stuffed animals) & with their Beddy’s bedding, the beds keep nice & tidy as well.

I feel like I have to explain the plexiglass covering their window 😂 We have replaced the blinds in this room three different times (they just love to tear them apart!). This gave us the ability to keep the blinds intact since we need them to be closed during nap time. Also, we are still able to open them for sunlight when the boys are not sleeping. We had curtains hanging in here before, but those got torn down, too! (Literally ripped out of the walls!) These boys are crazy, I tell ya.

We moved their large, white dresser to our master room and moved a smaller dresser that I was using into their closet. This has worked perfectly for us!

I hang all of their shirts, jackets, overalls & sweaters. Everything else gets folded & placed in the dresser. Pajamas, underwear & socks go in the first drawer, pants & shorts go in the second drawer & blankets fill the third drawer. I still love using these storage cubes to organize their clothes because they fit so perfectly in their dresser. I started using them for my clothes, too!

Toddler Update

Toddler Update | Forever Fuller

Wyatt & Boden are 27 months old. I was just thinking about how I haven’t shared an update on them in a long time. I looked back at my archives and it has been 11 months since the last update! The last one I shared was when they were 16 months old. You can read about here if you’d like!

As you can imagine, the boys have grown immensely in 11 months. They really blow us away with their communication & how they put sentences together. Sometimes, I can’t believe that I’m actually having real conversations with my babies! One of the funniest things we have heard lately was when Boden grabbed a packet of soy sauce from the counter and asked “What’s this? Candy?” Sean & I cracked up so hard…maybe it’s only funny to us but we couldn’t believe our little boy was asking us a question out of nowhere & how well he spoke.

Wyatt is still our little sweetheart. He is so lovey & cuddly it just melts this mama's heart! He loves to give hugs, kisses & back rubs…which is awesome. He is a laid-back, go-with-the-flow kind of guy. You can also reason with him a bit more ;) he is a thinker & loves to try to figure things out. He is crazy about tractors! He could sit and watch tractor shows all day if we let him. He’s also a goofball! He enjoys making people laugh & doing silly things over & over.

Boden is silly, opinionated, loud (has been since day one!) & has the most infectious laugh. He sings & makes up songs all day long. He regularly sings about Santa Claus which is the most adorable thing ever. My mom has nicknamed him “dimple face” because he has two of the sweetest dimples & his smiles are so big! He asks “what’s this?” to everything, constantly wanting to know what things are called. He calls his brother “brother Lane” which is too adorable for words. *Wyatt’s middle name is Lane, we frequently call him “Wyatt Lane” which is how Boden picked it up.

Some activities we’ve been doing lately are sensory bins (more on that soon!), crafts (making crayons, painting) & making ball/marble runs with our Grimms toys. We are most definitely dealing with some big emotions lately, which can be overwhelming at times, but overall we are doing amazing. These boys sure keep us busy! They are active, curious, playful little guys! They make our world go ‘round & we are crazy about them.

Felt Valentine Envelopes | Forever Fuller

A few weeks ago, I began making these felt envelopes for the boys for Valentine’s Day. I had an idea in my mind & just kind of ran with it!

I wanted to make something for them that was personalized, would last for a few years & would be fun for them to open…
